Korg DS-10 Track 10

Back to the C major scale for this 10th track.

Question of the day: do you think the Korg DS-10 "fad" will have staying power?

The Korg DS-10 is in my opinion close to being perfect. You can synthesize sounds to your heart's content with the most advanced analog synthesizer technology (granted, it's from the 80s but it may not be such a bad thing after all) and create songs with either the keyboard, the KAOSS pad or the mighty sequencer. All this for about 30 bucks (assuming you already have a Nintendo DS). The best part is that it all fits in your pocket.

  1. great stuff - luv this site and your work - you are lifting up the hood and encouraging others to make some sense of all the knobs and dials. Luv getting on youtube and seeing what other people are doing as well.
Best of luck with your music and please add more to your blog

  2. Thanks, that's very nice of you. Will add more to the blog (some patches, i hope).

  3. Patches are always good. Your 'lessons' are the most legible ones I've come across, which for someone where the DS-10 is their first synthesizer is pretty important. There's a lot of synth info out there if you google.. but most of it assumes you are already familiar with the subject.

Your tunes are a nice break too. Most people posting DS-10 tracks are making really busy techno music, which I'm not a huge fan of.

  4. thanks a whole lot. see what you are saying about busy music. i like simple stuff with one strong motive (maybe two if really inspired). not sure i could do more complicated than that. anyways, there's still a lot to discover about the ds-10, like the kaoss pad which, i must admit, i don't use much. lots of things to discover and play with. just scratching the surface as saga would say.
