My attempt at an organ (any kind of organ) patch. Far from the real thing but what can you do?
Oscillators 1 and 2 are triangle waves. The 2nd Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) is tuned down and it is not synced.
The tune is of course the first few bars of "Take me out to the ball game". As you can hear, this organ patch is quite far from what you would get at the seventh inning stretch in any baseball stadium.
If you have something that sounds better, let me know. Now, off to work on a cowbell patch.
You might be able to get a better tone by tuning vco2 to a fifth above vco1, and setting vco2 to the square wave. Then adjust balance to taste.
ReplyDeleteI suppose that gets into personal tastes and what qualities of that organ sound you prefer. With only two oscillators you're probably not going to catch all of the harmonics. ;)
Well, i was going for a church organ but would have settled for anything, really. I will check your suggestion. Thanks a lot.
ReplyDeleteRight, and I know exactly the sound you're going for (it's a great tone). The only problem is that such an instrument has many layers of sound, which makes it a challenge for the DS-10.
ReplyDeleteI think it's just a question of picking which layers suit your taste, and tweaking vco2 to give it to you.
yes, i think i will get better at this with time. i'm gonna try to focus on percussion stuff for now, so that i can do drum patterns with some "decent" tones. that's the plan anyways.
